Producers Promise a Dark Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie

From their beginnings as a comic, through the years of video games and cartoons, various iterations of movies, and the amazing toy lines that have been produced, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have always had a soft spot in many people's hearts.

Producers Scott Mednick and Galen Walker explained that this will be somewhat of a Turtles origin story (which has been reported before). They were bothadamant about getting back to what the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in '90 did. "The interesting thing about TMNT was the combination of action and humor, and Steve Barron (director from the first Turtles movie) added one thing, heart. We want and need to go back to that. Let's make sure we don't dishonor what has been before, and let's create something new," added Mednick.

With these ideas in mind, the fans still wanted to know one thing - will TMNT follow the same path that other darker superhero movies have been going in the last few years. "Our point of view is this: go back and look at the original Turtles comics. They are very dark. The audience is much more sophisticated than they were in 1990. This is 2009. Take the new Harry Potter for example. It is rated PG and it's still a very dark film. We are headed that direction," Galen said.

Bruce Lee's siblings authorize Chinese biopics

HONG KONG - Bruce Lee's older sister and younger brother have authorized a Chinese company to make a series of biographical films about the late kung fu icon, saying they want to produce a historically accurate account of their brother's life. Phoebe Lee and Robert Lee appeared at a signing ceremony with J.A. Media in Beijing on Monday, 36 years to the day after Bruce Lee died in Hong Kong at age 32 from swelling of the brain. Lee became a source of Chinese pride by portraying characters who defended the Chinese and the working class from oppressors in films like "Return of the Dragon." It wasn't immediately clear who will play Lee in the film series. Producer Manfred Wong said the company plans at least three installments, with the first to tackle Lee's teenage years, adding he wanted to focus more on the late actor's personality. "There will be kung fu ... But more importantly, we want to portray the real Bruce Lee. What is the real Bruce Lee like? He was very humorous. He was very obedient to his parents. He was very kind to his family," Wong said.

Jackie Chan praises kung fu of Will Smith's son

Well in case you had no idea...yes there is a remake of the classic movie "The Karate Kid", however it is to be renamed "Kung Fu Kid"... Right now there aren't much details but apparently Will Smith's son (Jaden Smith) will be playing Ralph Macchio's main character and Jackie Chan as the iconic Mr. Miyagi. Expected a release around summer 2010.

HONG KONG - Jackie Chan says "Kung Fu Kid" co-star Jaden Smith's dedication to martial arts puts his own son to shame. The 11-year-old son of Hollywood stars Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith has been training under Chan's stunt co-ordinator for his role in the China Film Group-Columbia Pictures remake of the 1984 hit "The Karate Kid," which kicked off filming in Beijing on July 11. In a diary entry on his official Web site, Chan said he was deeply impressed by the younger Smith's progress when he visited Los Angeles last month. The veteran Hong Kong action star said Jaden Smith learned the Chinese phrases for different kung fu moves, responded to orders in Mandarin, and treated his teacher, Wu Gang, according to traditional Chinese custom. "When he was thirsty, he gave the traditional hand gesture, putting one fist into the palm of the other, bowed and asked permission to drink some water," Chan said. Chan said Smith even learned the drunken fighter routine he made famous in his 1978 film "Drunken Master."

The Martial Arts are perhaps one of the best forms of exercise for a fitness program. If done correctly a typical workout incorporates every muscle group in your body. But the most important reason the Martial Arts is one of the best forms of exercise is because it is FUN!! Enjoying your exercise routine helps you stick with it and attain your personal goals. Additionally practicing the Martial Arts increases and improves your self-confidence, also you feel better physically and mentally. Regardless of your age a Martial Arts will benefit your overall fitness. A complete Martial Arts training program includes:

Cardiovascular Training

Most drills and exercises in Martial Arts training are a great source of Short and Hard Cardio workouts. Short and Hard Cardio workouts offer the largest increase in metabolism, increased Cardio health and respiratory output (the ability to not get winded!). When looking at your Martial Arts program you do need to make sure that it includes at least one set of 10-30 minutes of sustained activity to achieve the benefits of a short and hard Cardio workout. Deadliest Warrior - Spartan vs Ninja

Deadliest Warrior is a television program on Spike (Tuesdays @ 10PM) in which historical warriors are put against each other to see who can outlast the other. Each episode showcases two warriors in a hypothetical battle to the death. Each warrior is given weapons from the particular group they are associated with. Modern fighters and experts on said weapons present the strengths, and weaknesses of each arsenal, including real tests of the weapons. The data collected is then fed into a computer simulation to determine the average winner of one thousand battles. After the winner is determined, a mock battle takes place to showcase how each weapon is used in a real battle situation, and to determine which combatant is the "deadliest warrior".

(Footnote): According to this show the Spartan would win, however I believe realistically if this fight were to ever occur the Ninja would defeat the Spartan. Firstly a Spartan would have most likely not have been able to recognize a ninja as one. In reality, a ninja would never be so overt and self-evident as to his intention if he saw a fight coming in broad daylight. The ninja way would be to seduce him with a kunoichi and dispatch him in his sleep or otherwise make an example out of him, or assasinate the enemy's leader to cause chaos and distract from the idea of a need for conflict. If they ever fought an individual like this, it was on terms they would dictate and would be no fight at all.

Weapons

Results
Overall Winner: Spartan
Despite the Ninja's skill and stealth capabilities and large arsenal of deadly weapons, the spartan shield was just the killing blow for the ninja, proving itself to be both an immovable defense and deadly weapon. It proved vital to the Spartan for blocking Ninja projectiles and slamming the Ninja to the ground. The consensus reached was that while Ninja weapons could disable, Spartan weapons could kill and that a Ninja who relied on stealth would be no match for a Spartan in a direct duel.

Deadliest Warrior - Samurai vs Viking

Weapons

Results
Overall Winner: Samurai
Although the Viking's fierce courage, brute power, and defensive versatility are impressive, the Samurai's technical skills, quickness, and arsenal of specialized weaponry gave him a narrow victory in the third-closest episode to date. This is the closest one-on-one fight yet, and the closest fight not involving modern weapons.

>A teacher is never a giver of truth - he is a guide, a pointer to the truth that each student must find for himself. A good teacher is merely a catalyst.

>Empty your mind. Become formless and shapeless like water. When water is poured into a cup, it becomes the cup. When water is poured into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Be water, my friend.
